The McKelvey Foundation Entrepreneurial Scholarship

The McKelvey Foundation awards $40,000 scholarships (up to $10,000 a year for 4 years) to young entrepreneurs nationwide who have started their own businesses.

Check for application deadline and scholarship criteria. The deadline is usually near the end of January. Many of the past TCU Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Awards finalists and winners who are also high school seniors have won McKelvey Foundation Entrepreneurial Scholarships.

NFIB Young Entrepreneur Award (National Federation of Independent Business)

The NFIB Young Entrepreneur Award program awards a one-time $1,000 to high school seniors. Application deadline is December 15. Finalists must be nominated by a NFIB member.

NASE Scholarships (National Association for the Self-Employed)

You must be the legal dependent of a NASE member to win.

NASE Future Entrepreneur Scholarship - awards up to $24,000

This prestigious award is the largest scholarship of its kind in the U.S. and the only program that promotes the entrepreneurial philosophy. This unique opportunity is awarded each spring to one ambitious individual who demonstrates the characteristics of a future micro-business owner.

This entrepreneurial award is granted in the form of a $12,000 scholarship for the first year and $4,000 for additional scholarships in the next three years as eligible. Application deadline is April 25th.

NASE Scholarships - $4,000 Awards

This award-winning program is open to legal dependents of NASE Members, ages 16-24. To apply, students need to be high school students or college undergraduates planning to enroll in college for the upcoming fall semester. Application deadline is April 25th.

The Girls Going Places® Entrepreneurship Scholarship Program

The Girls Going Places® Entrepreneurship Award Program is Guardian Life's annual initiative designed to reward the enterprising spirits of girls ages 12 to 18. Guardian awards prizes to 15 girls who demonstrate budding entrepreneurship; are taking the first steps toward financial independence; and make a difference in their schools and communities. Prizes totaling $30,000 are granted to three top winners and 12 finalists each year, to further their entrepreneurial pursuits or save for college.

Staples Youth Social Entrepreneurship Competition

The Youth Social Entrepreneurship Competition recognizes young leaders who are creating positive change in the world. Eight young changemakers will be chosen as winners of the annual Staples Youth Social Entrepreneurship Competition and invited to present at the TEDxYSE (http://www.tedxyse.com/) event in mid-November in Washington, D. C. What resume booster! Nominations are accepted on a rolling basis.

Global Student Entrepreneur Awards - High School Student Award

The Entrepreneurs Organization (EO) will recognize a high school student entrepreneur at the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) annual Global Finals award ceremony. Students must be in high school, have been in business for the last six consecutive months, and the business must be a for-profit business. While there is no money, the winner will be flown to the Global awards ceremony, receive complimentary hotel accommodations, and present their business to an international panel of EO Members, student alumni, guests and media. This is a resume booster and gives you international bragging rights! The submission deadline is 15 September 2010.
